The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) is Austria's central funding organization for basic research.
Support for congress participation
Participation at a congress allows the presentation of ones own PhD work or to get in contact with the scientific comunity. Various organisatuions support young scientist to activley participate in national and international congresses.

Thesis committee
Student training on the level of international standards normally requires a team-based approach that combines the abilities of more than one person. Typically other academics with experience in research and supervision in related or complementary fields contribute importantly as members of the "thesis committee".
