Application to the Doctoral School

Registration will be processed by the Office of the Dean of Natural Sciences

With this registration form you will define the field of study within the natural sciences. You will also select a primary supervisor and a mentor. Before you hand in the registration form, make sure to make a copy. You will need the copied form when you submit your thesis. After your Doctoral School registration you will be entered in the UGonline System. Afterwards you need to activate your affiliation with the Doctoral School on your University-Business-Card.

Deadlines

Application for admission to the doctoral program should be submitted before the given deadlines. On rare occasions the deadline can be extended, however you should contact the Academic Affairs office in advance.

Degree Requirements (Curriculum)

the doctoral degree generally requires

• successful completion of discipline-specific and elective courses

• original research

• positive evaluation of the written doctoral thesis

• public presentation of the research and defense of the doctoral thesis before an examining committee.
